Meu amiga está afastando-se
Two heads are better than one?
O.k. people I'm really trusting you with my problems here so no judgements, just words of encouragement please :)
The woodbadge people took a picture of each of the staff for the first newsletter they put out. So naturally, I wanted to see the picture they planned on using. So they e-mailed it to me and I hated it. So long story short, I felt I was squinting and they didn't give me any time to touch up my make-up or fix my hair, the result is below. So I fixed it. With a different head, but in all fairness, it is mine. That's allowed right?
Does it look too funky? If it does, too bad for me I already sent it off. Good news is it will only be the size of a thumb print. Whew. Oh and a quick shout out to Roxio graphic program, your amazing.

I'm so crafty.......not!
I haven't had the chance, for so many years I can't count, to work on a craft. Our Super Saturday for our ward had too many cute things that I just couldn't pass up. Kirk usually calls it "kindling" cause he can't stand the paint on boards thing, but he actually liked the crafts I chose to do and will allow me to hang the Family one in the kitchen. Such a sweet guy. The other one I wanted for my office anyway.
On a side note check out my link to Tip Junkie, there were several ideas on there and they look very similar and are very tempting for me right now. Let me know what you think!

Last weekend we got to go up to the mountains for a Family Reunion. My mom's side of the family, for our annual campout. We had a lot more people show up this year which was fun. It's sad when you don't even know the last names of your cousins. Uncle Jimmy was so wonderful as to provide most of the food we ate and ordered 2 Port-a-Potty's and a handwash station. He also brought up a couple of ATV's for everyone to ride around on. We like roughing it, or more like we can't afford the R.V.'s that they stay in, so we camp out in our tent. Kirk surprised me we a new tent. Well actually I went to Bass Pro shop hoping the convince Kirk that getting this tent was a neccesity, and while on the phone with him I was telling him that there was only one left on the shelf and they don't restock the item very often, and should I get it now. He finally said "Yeah, there's one on the shelf and there is one in the back of my car". So basically I blew it.
The Brookbanks planned a fun rodeo for the kids. They got to design their own vests and horses and then took turns running them around the barrells and then try to rope a cow with a hulahoop and then run over and heard the piggies to the other side of the volleyball court. The adults afterward had a tournament of Horseshoes, Hang Tight and Badmintin. I can't remember who won, so I'll have to let you know later.
The weekend ended with a Flag Retirement for a flag that is very dear to our family. It's one of the flags that my Grandpa flew over his home for 20 years. He severed in the military durring World War 2 and to honor his country he never missed a day putting the flag up. Only honor guards in the military or Order of the Arrow in Boy Scouts are allowed to perform a Flag Retirement Ceremony, otherwise you are just burning a flag. Kirk and my brother Ty are both members of the Order and so they retired our Grandfathers flag for us. All the kids were mezmerized. I have never heard them be so quite, without being told to a million times. The reverence there was tangable.
On Sunday morning we had a great little service with a talk by my brother Michael who spoke about developing your testimony, a talk from Dallan H Oaks at last conference. Michael did a fantastic job. Then we had a little family testimony meeting. There is nothing better than sharing and hearing testimonies in the middle of Heavenly Fathers creations. We managed to get one group shot of everyone before breakfast and breaking down the camp. We had such a good time and hope that this tradition will continue for years to come.

We have a new addition to the family!
I would like to introduce you to Princess Peach Tenney!
She needed a home with dogs that were named after Mario brothers and our house was the perfect fit. So now we have the whole set Yoshi , Toad and Peach
My sister and brother-in-law bought the dog a few days ago and where hoping to join the land of dog owners, but alas, it was not meant to be . Too much school and work and other things going on in their lives. They didn't have the time to devote to a brand new puppy, so they hoped that we would take her in. And being the suckers that we are for a cute and furry little face, we really had no choice.
